History


The Vidyalaya is situated 26 kilometres from Palakkad town in a small village called Tattamangalam of Palakkkad district in Kerala close to Tamil Nadu border.

November 1959
The Chinmaya Mission, Tattamangalam was established by a handful of committed devotees of Swami Chinmayanandaji.
 
In 1960's
Swami Chinmayanandji sent few sewing machines sponsored by a devotee in Mumbai. These sewing classes that were organised spurred the Mission to think on lines of opening a school. Thus Chinmaya Vidyalaya Tattamangalam was conceived
 
June 12th 1977
The Vidyalaya was formally established in a rented building at Western Village, Tattamangalam .
 
June 1979
The Vidyalaya was shifted into its own building which currently houses the Kindergarten Block and Play School .
 
In 1980 s
Visit of H.H.Swami Chinmayanadaji to the Vidyalaya and in his address to the public that the school will grow into a Senior Secondary School inspired the mission to affiliate the Vidyalaya to the CBSE .
 
In 1994:
The Vidyalaya was granted affiliation and became a Secondary School and presented its first batch of class 10th for public examination.
 
June 7-1996
The main Vidyalaya moved into the 5.2 acre plot which now houses the present Vidyalaya and has upgraded to a Senior Secondary School and had presented the first batch of class 12th students for the Examination in 2012.
 
5th June 2000
Second phase of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Tattamangalam was consecrated by H H VIVIKTANANDAJI- Regional Co ordinator, Chinmaya Mission , Kerala Region
 
22nd January -2003
Chinmaya Vidyalaya Tattamangalam. Aunit of CMECT Palakkad, SILVER JUBILEE HALL was consecrated by HH SWAMI THEJOMAYANANDAJI
 
2010
The H.S.S building started functioning in the year 2010. It consist of various laboratories such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer. Yoga hall , 4 class rooms and Lavatories are also added in this block.
